  • What are Insulated Glass Units?

Insulating glass units, or IGUs, are two (or more) panes of glass that are separated by a spacer and sealed together at the edge.  They are designed to keep homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.  IGU's are used in windows, doors and skylights.

  • Why is my window foggy or cloudy?

When an Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) has condensation or cloudiness in between the glass panes, the seal has likely gone bad.  Once the seal of an IGU goes bad, it cannot be repaired and will need to be replaced with a new unit.  In most cases, we can remove the old unit from your existing window sash and replace it with a new one.
